As we were leaving the shops this morning Erica told me that she was hungry. We bought some mini iced doughnuts* and I told her she could eat three of them. She needed to save the other three for Ethan. I left the cup of doughnuts with Erica in the back of the car and we headed for home. When we were halfway there I asked her if she had left three doughnuts in the cup, to which she replied "yes I left three doughnuts for Ethan, I just ate the sparkles".
When we arrived home I discovered that she had indeed left three doughnuts, but had licked all of the icing and hundreds and thousands off the top. Erica calls sprinkles and hundreds and thousands 'sparkles'.
She has also been entertaining Ethan and I today with her rendition of Jingle Bells. She doesn't quite have all of the lyrics worked out yet..

Oh what sun it is to ride in an orley orley play hey"
* Given this post combined with this post you may be thinking that I feed my children an awful lot of doughnuts. It seems that I have managed to document the only two times in the past six months or so that my children have eaten doughnuts. They really do have healthy diets! Doughnut King saved me today by being located near the exit to the car park.
